Russia’s RUSAL sees moderate aluminum price growth in 2015
MOSCOW, Feb 25 (PRIME) -- Russian aluminum giant UC RUSAL expects aluminum prices to grow moderately in 2015 from the current U.S. $1,800 per tonne and global demand for aluminum to increase by 6.5%, Chief Financial Officer Alexandra Buriko said Wednesday during a conference call.
“We believe that this is a temporary situation and a moderate growth will follow. We are looking at the situation with moderate optimism,” Buriko said.
In January, RUSAL CEO Vladislav Solovyov said the average aluminum price in 2015 would stand at $2,000 per tonne after the price had sunk to $1,774 per tonne on the London Metals Exchange, a record low since 2013.
